CareAlone Privacy Statement
Last updated: July 28, 2026
CareAlone is a safety check-in and alerting application operated by Care Human Services. It is used by care workers, supervisors, and administrators. We collect and use information only to operate the service, support worker safety, notify supervisors, maintain records, and improve reliability.
Information We Collect
Depending on how your organization uses CareAlone, the app may collect:
- Account and access information, such as names, email addresses, roles, residence assignments, and device identifiers.
- Worker activity information, including check-in times, missed check-ins, panic alerts, supervisor acknowledgements, request history, and related notes.
- Location information when a worker checks in, triggers an alert, or when location is needed to support safety workflows.
- Notification and device information, such as push notification tokens, device status, app version, permission status, alarm readiness, battery/background restriction indicators, and diagnostic logs.
- Communication information, such as supervisor messages, alert comments, notification delivery records, and push-to-talk connection metadata where enabled.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide check-in, missed check-in, panic alert, escalation, and supervisor acknowledgement features.
- Send notifications through the app, Firebase Cloud Messaging, email, Telegram, or other configured channels.
- Show supervisors and administrators the status of residences, workers, alerts, requests, and reports.
- Maintain app reliability, troubleshoot device settings, prevent missed alarms, and investigate support issues.
- Meet operational, safety, compliance, audit, and record-keeping needs for participating organizations.
Location Information
CareAlone may request location permission so check-ins and safety alerts can include the worker's location when relevant. Location is used for safety monitoring and supervisor response. The app does not sell location information.
Sharing Information
Information may be shared with:
- Authorized supervisors, administrators, and support staff for the residences or organizations they manage.
- Service providers that help operate CareAlone, including Firebase/Google Cloud services, notification providers, email delivery services, and communication integrations configured by your organization.
- Other parties when required by law, to protect safety, or to investigate misuse or security incidents.
Data Storage and Security
CareAlone uses Firebase and related cloud services to store and process app data. We use access controls, role-based permissions, and operational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but we work to keep CareAlone data protected and available for safety operations.
Retention
CareAlone keeps records for as long as needed to provide the service, support safety workflows, meet organizational record-keeping needs, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations. Retention periods may vary based on your organization's configuration and policies.
Your Choices
Workers can manage some device permissions, such as notifications and location, through their device settings. Some permissions are required for core safety features to work reliably. If you need access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, contact your CareAlone administrator or your organization.
Children's Privacy
CareAlone is intended for workplace and organizational safety use. It is not directed to children and should not be used by children without appropriate organizational authorization.

We may update this Privacy Statement from time to time. When we do, we will update the date above and post the revised statement at this page.
